The Syrian Ministry of Tourism, in partnership with Ezdihar Holding, launched "The Beaumont" on 7 April 2026, according to SANA. It is an integrated residential, commercial, and leisure development in central Damascus near Umayyad Square, along the Barada River.
TradeArabia reported the estimated investment at the April 2026 launch as $250 to $300 million, and SANA's September 2026 report gives up to $300 million. The project is positioned as part of efforts to develop Syria's tourism sector and attract investment.
The project was announced as covering 77,000 square meters. SANA's September 2026 report specifies that this is the total built-up area, on a site of about 27,000 square meters. The development includes two towers.
The first tower is planned to house a five-star hotel with 150 rooms, including presidential suites, dining outlets, a members' club, and a spa. Enab Baladi reports that this tower has about 22 floors. The second tower is planned to have 26 floors of residences, from one-bedroom serviced apartments to duplex penthouses of up to 570 square meters.
The project includes a two-level retail center, an outdoor promenade with cafés and restaurants, and a 10-story business center intended to attract regional and international corporate offices. SANA's launch report also lists office space and a new building for the Ministry of Tourism among the components.
The project is to be delivered in phases within four years, under a 50-year joint venture between the Ministry and Ezdihar Holding that has financial and administrative independence, according to TradeArabia. SANA's September 2026 report counts the four years from the date the joint company is officially announced. The project is projected to create 1,500 to 2,500 direct jobs and 3,000 to 3,500 indirect roles.
Ezdihar Holding will fund a training program for 30 Ministry employees at the University of Oxford's Saïd Business School, covering hospitality, project management, and tourism investment.
