Rehabilitation of Palm Village Hotel

About the Hotel

Palm Village Hotel is a four-star hotel in the Yaafour area of Rif Dimashq. According to SANA, it covers 3,500 square metres and has 33 suites in three categories: junior, diplomatic and presidential.

Rehabilitation and Opening

Hotel investor Mohammad Omar Shoura said that the property was fully rehabilitated and refitted after it stopped operating in 2011. Tourism Minister Mazen Al-Salhani inaugurated the hotel on Friday, 31 July 2026, with representatives of several diplomatic missions attending. SANA presents the opening as one step in supporting the development of the tourism sector's infrastructure.

Facilities and Capacity

SANA lists restaurants indoors and outdoors, meeting rooms, a business centre and sports and service areas, aimed at business travellers, families, and guests staying for short or long periods. It puts the number of jobs the hotel provides at 50 to 60.

Smart Hotel Model and Alternative Energy

Shoura said the hotel depends largely on alternative energy for its electrical services, in line with a move towards clean energy sources. He described a hospitality model that blends modern technology, sustainability and Syrian identity. According to him, the hotel follows the Smart Hotel concept, with connected digital systems managing its operations and services, alongside modern energy and water management solutions which, he said, help raise operating efficiency and the quality of service to guests.

Tourism Investment Context

SANA presents the project as part of the Ministry of Tourism's strategy for supporting tourism investment and economic development by creating new jobs and rehabilitating damaged facilities. Al-Salhani said the ministry's role is to keep providing the enabling environment that encourages investors to develop high-quality projects in line with leading international practice while keeping Syrian identity.
