According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) on 29 April 2026, the General Company for Aleppo Electricity opened four new transformer substations in the Al-Sha'ar district, within the Al-Halwaniyya area, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The agency quoted the company's director, Mahmoud al-Ahmad, as saying the substations supply power to residents of the area who had been without electricity for several years, and that supply from them began on Wednesday 29 April 2026. The report carried no project cost or duration.
