
The "Diwan Al-Sham" project is a plan for an integrated residential, tourist, and investment complex in central Damascus. It proposes developing the site of the former Ministry of Defense / General Staff building overlooking Umayyad Square, at an estimated cost of approximately $300 million, as part of a package of Saudi investments following the fall of the previous regime.
To date, the project remains in the investment and design phase and has not yet moved into the announced construction phase.
