Field teams have completed the rebuilding of a number of damaged homes in the village of Al-Umqiyya, located in western Hama, bringing them to full occupancy readiness. The project was carried out by the Emergency Response Foundation in coordination with Hama Governorate and with financial and humanitarian support from Qatar Charity.
The project aims to improve living conditions for affected residents and provide a safe residential environment that allows families currently sheltering in displacement camps to return to their homes.

Update — 2026-07-31
A separate project in the same village: according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) on 31 July 2026, the General Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation in Hama, in cooperation with HEKS/EPER, began a project to rehabilitate the Al-Umqiyya water station in the governorate's western countryside, covering rehabilitation of the station and the installation of a 133-panel solar system. A parallel project in the village of Al-Karkat installs a 150-panel solar system with its full electrical equipment.
SANA quoted the company's director general, Abdel-Sattar al-Ali, as saying the two projects serve more than 15,000 residents who had been suffering water shortages. This project is separate from the home rebuilding project in the village, though it serves the same residents.
